Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is a symbol of summer, tasty food and simple natural products. Variety Pinot Grigio and Pinot Blanc are two varieties originating from the mutation of noble Pinot Noire. It is successfully grown in the chilly mountainous region of Oregon, as well as in Sicily. In Alsace, Pinot Gris, as it’s called there, renders rich, fragrant white wines with the notes of walnut, smoke, spices and sometimes honey. This variety is known in our country as Sivi Burgundac.
Character
The Pinot Grigio wine made in our wineries is of straw-yellow colour with copper hues indicating the natural process of production of white wine from brown-red grapes and already at first sight the extractivity and exceptional complexity of this wine can be seen. It is produced and kept in stainless steel vessels (90%) and barrique barrels made of French oak (10%), which helps maintain its freshness and the aroma of tropical fruits, ripe pears, melons, apples and white nectarines. Enhanced by the oak when tasted it is rich and full, slightly creamy and buttery, and fills the glasses with the aroma of honey and fresh dates, still retaining the taste of fruitiness in the forefront. All of this, well balanced out, contributes to the complexity and uniqueness of this wine, which constitutes a mandatory part of a summer meal eaten in open air.
